Snow Dome - the return

On Sunday 30th May 2010, a few MHSC members got up early to be on the Snow Dome ski slope for 9.00 am, ready to tackle 3 hours of skiing.

It was a great time of the year to be skiing. The slope is very quiet after the Easter holiday as people no longer take a ski holiday and thus do not require getting ready for it.

Tony Cole and Pippa Ball were impressive, showing great skills considering it was only their second time on skis. Real naturals!

Picture showing some of the participants.

There will be other "social" events planned later on in the year.

The Junior Apprentice, journalist category?

Lauren Murphy has had a letter published in the June 2010 issue of Aqua Zone.

Well done Lauren!

Congratulations to Kirsty and Candice

The awesome duo have struck again.

They have both been selected to represent Leicestershire in an inter-county gala, competing for the Kingerlee Trophy at Milton Keynes on the 9th of May.

Candice (12U) will swim the 100m butterfly and relays.

Kirsty (13U) will swim the 100m freestyle and relays.

Girls, the club is proud of you!

Fun day at the Snow Dome

During the Easter break, a few intrepid MHSC members decided to forego their right to a lie-in to be at the Snow Dome for 9.00 am sharp, ready to tackle a full day of activities.

First on the menu, direction the swimming-pool with flume and inflatable providing the fun. Next, mayhem on the ski slope with toboggans. Big grins were a plenty! Finally, afternoon on the ice rink.

This was a resounding success, all ages thoroughly enjoying themselves on the day. Thus it was decided that more social events for club members will be organised from time to time, wild ideas already circulating such as camping trip, learning to ski, stay at Centerpark...

Watch this space!
